Formaram-se em 1982, United Kingdom por Karl Blake, "Lord" Ashley Wales, e David "Cadbury" Knight,a eles juntaram-se os membros Mark Rowlatt, Clive "Tigger" Glover,o primeiro line-up da banda que gravou dois EPs [I, Bloodbrother Be [£4000 love letter]', 'The Kissing of Gods'] e o album 'Not Born Beautiful'.
Blake já havia apresentado os Lemon Kittens, the Fast Set, Rowlatt in Metabolist. Em meados de 1985 Rowlatt, Glover e Wales, partiram para os Spring Heeled Jack.
Cerca de um ano mais tarde Knight(mas continuou a tocar com o seu melhor amigo Blakes)parte para os Lemon Kittens com Danielle Dax - Blake gravou um EP, e um álbum 'Imp of the Perverse' e 'Lunatic Dawn of the Dismantler', sob o nome The Underneath em Outubro de 1987.
Depois de formar os British Racing Green, Evil Twin e do curta duração The Greater Good - [tudo imediatamente após o desaparecimento de Peters] Blake reune com Knight em 1990 para um novo e talvez ainda uma versão, pedaço dos Shock Headed Peters, e gravam três CDs;'Several Headed Enemy', 'Fear Engine 2; e finalmente em 2006 'Tendercide'.
Blake também foi um sideman /guest durante todo o final dos anos 80 até ao presente de um "número de diferentes e variados projectos de outros musicos, alguns mais conhecidos do que outros: The Reflections, Alternative T.V., The Invisible Band, The Folk Devils [RIP, Ian] , Pinky McClure & the Puritans, Left Hand Right Hand , Joolie Wood etc..... alguns até de uma forma amigável ], o mais recente destes foi mu, album de Eric Rogers Gae Bolg como baixista bem como tendo realizado concertos de Spoken Word do seu próprio material. Blake foi também faz parte do improvising combo Amal Gamal - que compreende Steven Thrower () David Knight (ex-SHP, Arkkon, Danielle Dax), Orlando Harrison (Alabama 3), Gavin Mitchell (enlighten me!) and Dave Smith (Guapo , Miasma) and Ms. Dax na ocasião. Também colaborou no excelente disco de Simon Finn, "Pass the Distance".
