David J with Tim Newman • The Clock Becomes An Impersonator Of Torture (...

While Bauhaus were waiting to continue their reunion shows, founding member David J trawled through his archive of tapes and diaries from the early 80s and in collaboration with sound sculptor Tim Newman (Love Is A Ghost) presents two volumes of unique spoken word and songs, Analogue Excavations & Dream Interpretations, for Record Store Day 2022. Volume 1 includes a vocal contribution from Black Francis of The Pixies with guitar overdubs by Warren Defever of His Name Is Alive and Adrian Utley of Portishead.

DARKSIDE - Frankie Teardrop tribute Suicide

Faust's Jean-Hervé Peron in conversation with Julian...

"Even when they knew their lives were at risk, the people continued to print and distribute such records. In our western civilisation, the only risk you encounter when being "artistically revolutionary" is being ignored or classified as ridiculous... mais le ridicule n'a jamais tué personne." - Jean-Hervé Peron This year, Le Guess Who? will present Faust IV Live! at the festival as part of John Dwyer (OSEES)'s curation. Also performing at the festival are Black Country, New Road,The Microphones, OSEES, William Basinski performing Lamentations, Bent Arcana, play live in 2019 The cult album Faust IV was the fourth studio album released by the German krautrock group in 1973. Listed in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, where it is referred to as a "krautrock classic", Faust IV includes the drone-based long instrumental Krautrock as opener, and seminal songs such as Jennifer and The Sad Skinhead. Faust IV Live! captures the strange magic that then and now defines Faust as an entity unto themselves. Musicians: Jean-Hervé Péron (Faust), Amaury Cambuzat (Faust, Ulan Bator), Pierre Chevalier (Faust, Present), Jeanne-Marie Varain (Faust, Ernsthafte Angelegenheiten) with special guests Antonia Mallach (violin), Raphaël Meulemans (cello), Clément Meulemans (contrabass), Audrey Dechevre (drums).

Cosey Fanni Tutti - The British Masters Season 3 - Chapter 5

After Dizzee Rascal, Jimmy Page, Bryan Ferry and Mark E Smith, it's Cosey Fanni Tuti's turn to get the British Masters treatment as she tells Noisey’s John Doran about her career as an artist and musician which has spanned four decades. In John's own words, "Cosey's work has continually innovated, challenged and outraged since the start of the 1970s, Whether as a member of the transgressive art collective Coum Transmissions or the boundary destroying industrial group Throbbing Gristle, or as an electronic musical with her partner Chris Carter. Since the 70's, her work has brought her into direct conflict with the police, the tabloid press, the British government, the music industry and the art establishment, and despite this, she remains to this day a uniquely progressive artist."
